Mr M presented with severe knee pain and gradual deformity, and was not able run.

He had had some opinions about knee replacement, but it was decided he was too young (quite rightly).

Following discussion and advice, he underwent a high tibial osteotomy.  His increasingly bandy leg was straightened to take pressure off the inner part of the knee.

He has had such a good result from this.  He has recently completed an Ironman competition and given me permission to share his story.

“The knee behaved impeccably throughout, no pain during or adverse reaction following the event”.
